1 Million Actions 4 the Planet
In 2020 I proposed that 1 Million Women run its first peer to peer fundraising campaign. I recognised that it would be an opportunity for 1 Million Women to use our following of 900,000 to raise money and become more independent, introduce 1 Million Women to our audience's family and friends, while also giving our audience a way to take practical action.
Along with proposing the campaign, when we were given the go ahead I worked with the 1MW team to put together a project timeline and promo strategy, worked with an external artist to create the look and feel of the campaign, put together the promo assets for social, and worked with one of my colleagues to design and write copy for the website, which we built through Raisely.
As something 1MW had never done before I wasn't sure what to expect, but the $53,000 raised was really helpful for the budget, the campaign introduced 1MW to members' friends and family and grew the database by 4000, while motivating our audience to take tangible steps in their own lives to do better for the planet. It's going to be taking place again in 2021.
Graphic and copy I put together to promote 1 Million Actions on Instagram. 'Go meat and dairy free' was one of four challenges participants could take on. It was one of 1 Million Women's most successful posts that promoted a campaign.
